Blue Foot Membranes signs asset purchase agreement to acquire all assets and IP related to MaxFlow Membran Filtration GmbH water filtration modules
Blue Foot Membranes NV has announced it has signed an asset purchase agreement to acquire all assets and IP related to MaxFlow Membran Filtration GmbH (MMF) water filtration modules. This agreement allows a further vertical integration of the production process and enables BFM to set up additional strategic alliances across the world. Additionally, MMF’s team brings a wealth of experience helping customers in the design, operation and support of their membrane bioreactors.

'We strongly believe that our IPC® membrane technology can change the way the industry will look at MBR. Thanks to IPC®'s high pressure back pulse capacity, it can double the MBR systems’ output per square meter. Moreover, although our initial target market is MBR, the technology can serve as a growth platform in other applications as well.'
Ulrich Brüss, general manager of MaxFlow Membran Filtration GmbH, agrees, 'The combination of the back flushable IPC® membranes and our triple deck module configuration is a real game changer. Thanks to IPC®'s back pulse capacity, it can double the output per square meter. In combination with MMF’s triple deck module concept, it can dramatically reduce capex and opex costs of both existing and new MBR installations.'
Blue Foot Membranes NV is a VITO spin off supported by Belgian investors Qbic II, LRM and Innovation Fund. It produces and commercializes the world’s first high pressure back pulsable PVDF flat sheet membranes which can be installed in new and existing MBRs.
MaxFlow Membran Filtration GmbH was incorporated in 2005 as a subsidiary of A3 Water Solutions GmbH. MMF specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing membrane filtration modules for the wastewater industry and for solid-liquid separation. The company has its own production facility in Saerbeck, Germany.
